A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE CEO OF A 7-FIGURE

Ever wondered what it’s like to be the CEO of a thriving 7 figure martial arts school? Jennifer Waters, the sales and systems sensei, gives us a little peek into what day-to-day life looks like for her, on one of the busiest days inside of her flagship martial arts school. She reveals exactly what they do, how they work, and what makes them successful.
First thing Waters does in the office is check her planner (which she pens down the night before) so she is familiar with the day’s tasks. One glance at her daily planner shows that there are barely any white spaces, i.e., free time. “I hate having white spaces on my calendar,” she says, “I feel much more accomplished, much more productive, if all the white spaces are filled up.” If there is a white space, she will work on fighting fires, i.e., troubleshooting, during that time frame. She also has a Google Calendar for her day set up on her screen, showing all her appointments for the day. The Google Calendar also helps her stay connected to her team, so that they know where she is or what is happening at any time during the day. These are her two important tools she recommends on using in combination for having a more productive day.
The first appointment Waters had for the day was a zoom meeting with her clients in the 7 Figure Dojo Program, where she trains them and answers their questions on how to grow their martial arts schools to generate 7 figures a year. This was followed by a short session at the chiropractor. After another couple of appointments, and catching up on a few Slack messages during a short break, she headed into her flagship school for a leadership training session with the entire team. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Waters then has the martial arts classes. On this busy day, she had one teens class to teach, and another kickboxing class later on.
Before the day has officially wrapped up, there is one thing that Jennifer Waters does without fail every day before she leaves. Going back to her planner and calendar, she makes sure to plan and write down what her day is going to look like the next day. She strongly advises doing this, as a lot of people do not have control of their day because they are not planning for what is going to happen the next day. So make sure you have your day planned out, and if it is completely filled without any white spaces that would be even more advantageous because it means that you are in control of your day. Even if there is a time period in her day where she does not have any appointments to take, or classes to teach, or any tasks to be working on, Waters still makes sure that time is planned for her to be doing something productive. She has it planned out, and in the case that she needs a breather or a time out for some time, she can utilize it without having it cause a hindrance on the remainder of her day. The bottom line is to not have huge blocks of free time in your day, because when you do, that time gets wasted.
“I am not waiting for something to happen to me, I’m happening to my day”, Waters emphasizes. And that is how Jennifer Waters can get a lot more done than the average person, because she is not wasting time, and has her entire day planned out from the night before.
